Position: Security Operations Manager - GCW
Department: Security - Grand Canyon West
Classification: Exempt
Salary Range: S4
Supervisor: General Manager GCW

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the General Manager assists with the management of the Security and Security Surveillance department operations the security of facilities resources employees and guests at Grand Canyon West as well as monitoring the movement of guests and employees throughout location. Assists with the leadership coaching and development of Security department employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the General Manager assists with the management of the Security and Surveillance department operations and staff.
- Participates in ensuring the security of facilities resources employees and guests at Grand Canyon West.
- Monitors the movement of guests and employees throughout the Grand Canyon West property.
- Communicates and implements all Security policies and procedures used at Grand Canyon West facilities.
- As directed communicates and coordinates with local police authorities regarding possible observations of theft or other illegal activity on premises.
- Responsible for meeting all training needs of active Security and Security Surveillance individuals.
- Assists with the leadership coaching and development of Security department employees.
- Performs regular and timely Performance Evaluation discussions and documentation with members of team and promotes team environment while providing individual growth opportunity for Direct Reports.
- Ensures that all communications are shared with employees in a timely and accurate manner as appropriate.
- Keeps the Security Director apprised of all appropriate situations and provides timely updates on activities.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Prior leadership experience in the security or security surveillance field.
- Ability to lead coach and develop the members of the Security and Security Surveillance teams at Grand Canyon West facilities.
- Ability to assess security situations or issues and take appropriate action. Ability to handle major escalations of issues and emergency situations.
- Ability to provide or arrange for required training for subordinates.
- Ability to foster and motivate employees in a team environment.
Qualifications:
- Leadership experience in the security or security surveillance field.
- High School Diploma or GED required Associate or Bachelors Degree preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Valid Drivers License with clean driving record.
- Clean criminal background.
- Preference given to Hualapai Tribal members.
Working Conditions:
Position requires ability to work indoors as well as in outdoor environment. Must be able to work varying schedules weekends and holidays.
Applicant must pass a pre-employment drug screen and extensive background check may be required. However preference may be given to persons of Indian decent in accordance with Public law 88-353 Section 703 (7-2-71) and Public Law 93-638 Section 7B
Grand Canyon Resort Corporation (GCRC) is wholly-owned by the Hualapai Tribe and is located in Peach Springs 1988 the Hualapai People who have been part of this land since time immemorial established GCRC welcoming millions of visitors each year to tour the area. The year 1883 is when the reservation was established and occupiers are usually foreign to the land they occupy. To further increase tourism in the area the Grand Canyon Skywalk was built in 2007. The Skywalk is a glass horseshoe-shaped bridge that enables visitors to walk beyond the canyon walls at Grand Canyon West suspending them 4000 feet above the riverbed and providing an unparalleled view of this natural wonder.
