Occupational Medicine Specialist
Purpose: This position is responsible for providing medical expertise to prevent and manage workrelated illnesses & injuries ensuring a healthy and safe work environment for Mowasalat employees.
Job Summary: The incumbent goal is to work closely with the Medical Center team to develop and implement occupational health programs conduct medical examinations & provide medical guidance to management on occupational health matters.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
- Develop implement and evaluate occupational health programs to prevent workrelated illnesses & injuries
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and provide recommendations to management on occupational health matters
- Design and implement health surveillance programs to monitor the health status of workers exposed to occupational hazards
- Conduct thorough medical examinations and assessments for employees including preemployment medical & periodic health checks
- Provide expert medical guidance to management on employee fitness for work workplace accommodations and returntowork strategies
- Manage occupationalrelated medical cases ensuring timely and effective treatment
- Develop and implement health promotion programs to educate employees on healthy lifestyle choices & disease prevention strategies
- Collaborate with the Medical Center team to develop and distribute health education materials promoting a culture of wellness
- Provide oneonone health coaching and counseling services to employees addressing their specific health concerns & goals and empowering them to make informed decisions about their wellbeing
- Provide specialist consultative medical advice to staff regarding occupational medicine related conditions or issues
- Assist the Company's Occupational Health Safety Team with expert medical advice for risk assessments reasonable adjustments and the choice & use of PPE
- Keep line managers department heads and other stakeholders informed about updates trends & best practices in Occupational Medicine that may impact on workplace health safety and productivity
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements industry standards and best practices for occupational health
- Develop implement and evaluate quality assurance processes to ensure highquality medical care & services
- Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure compliance with medical protocols & guidelines

Minimum Required Qualifications Certificates & Skills
Qualifications (e.g. Education)
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree with specialization in Occupational Medicine (Boardcertified or Master's degree in Occupational Health and Industrial Medicine)
- Valid license to practice as an Occupational Medicine Specialist in Qatar including completion of the Qatari evaluation as a specialist and Dataflow verification for foreign specialists
Work Experience (e.g. Number of years and field / role)
- Minimum 7 8 years of experience in Occupational Medicine or a related field preferably in the medical sector with at least 56 years of experience in the GCC region in a similar or equivalent role within a Commercial or Industrial Occupational Health Department
Certificates & Trainings
Any relevant certification or training such as:
- Certified Occupational Medicine Specialist (COMS)
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
