About Us
Bedford Ready Mix has been in operation since 1985 and is a proud member of OSCO Concrete & Aggregates addition to its shared resources with other OSCO Concrete members the Bedford location also hosts a four-bay repair facility capable of handling the largest OSCO Concrete pumps in the fleet. Thiscollaborationhas made Bedford and its other OSCO Concrete members one of the largest concrete suppliers in the Halifax Regional Municipality. Bedford performs a mix of residential work along with large-scale industrial/commercial projects. OSCO Concrete also operates a large fleet of concrete pumps including the largest concrete boom pump east of Montreal.
Responsibilities
General heavy labour work in our Ready Mix Yard including:
- Lifting/ Pushing items between 30lbs 50lbs where required
- Assembly preparation and dismantle of concrete blocks
- Conduct site hazard assessments and various other checks
- Conduct regular maintenance to the Concrete Reclaimer
- Driving/Delivering parts in Automatic tonne truck between our two Ready Mix Yard sites
- Regular cleaning/tidying of shop / yard
- Adding ice and other bagged products to concrete mixers
- Long hoursmay be required
Requirements
- Must have Class 5 license
- Must have own reliable transportation
- Ability to handle very physically demanding work
- Must be willing to work long shifts and extra hours including some evenings overnights and weekends
- Must be mechanically-inclined
- Previous labour experience in a ready mix and/or construction industry considered an asset
- Candidates with general knowledge of the ready- mix industry will be given preference

Hourly wage for this position starts at $21.00.
