INTRODUCTION TO ENGINEERING TEACHER
Job Requirements:
- Must have a current SEI Endorsement 5-12 Technology/Engineering or a 8-12 Mathematics or a 8-12 Physics license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
- PLTW Introduction to Engineering Design training
- At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Master degree preferred in Engineering
- Citizenship residency or work VISA in United States required
Preferred candidates:
- Have experience teaching high school Technology and Engineering (PLTW IED) as a hands on design based rather than conceptual course
- Have worked with youth and understand the developmental stages and behaviors of high-school aged students
- Have a strong background in Technology and Engineering as well as Physics and Mathematics content
- Have an ability to manage a safe laboratory-based learning environment
- Have familiarity with developments in the technology field including internet safety personal responsibility for technology use basic programming and modeling.
- Can maintain and monitor student usage of computer lab equipment
- Effectively use technology to support effective instruction and student learning.
- Will be able to actively collaborate with other staff in a team based academy
- Can communicate effectively and have strong interpersonal skills
- Evaluate and differentiate student progress and adapt individual programs to meet student needs.
- Create and implement lessons that integrate competencies goals and objectives.
- Utilize curricula that address and reflect diverse educational cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Create a positive educational climate for students through attention to social and emotional learning.
- Support English Language Learners.
- Have training in or are at least familiar with the Project Lead The Way curriculum
- Demonstrate the values of Everett Public Schools and Everett High School
