JOB TITLE: Community Center Assistant DEPARTMENT AND LOCATION OF JOB: Residence Life Founders Hall FVCC Kalispell Campus
ELIGIBILITY:
Students must be Work Study Eligible (as determined by Financial Aid)
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Academic Calendar Year 2025/2026 PAY RANGE: $15.00 per hour
WORK SCHEDULE: 5 - 15 hours per week. The office is open Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Shifts will include at a minimumTuesdays 12pm-1pm and Thursdays 12pm-5pm with opportunity for more coverage.
DRESS CODE: Casual with appropriate coverage
POSITION PURPOSE/ROLE:
The Residence Life Community Center Assistant provides and coordinates support services for staff and students in Founders Hall. This position reports to the Residence Life Coordinator. POSITION DUTIES:
- Receives and routes phone calls and visitors coming into the Founders Hall
- Maintains confidentiality of student information in accordance with Residence Life and FERPA policies
- Acts as a liaison between Residence Life and the residents as well as acts as a referral for resources on campus and in the Flathead Community
- Admits locked-out residents to their apartments
- Assists with the check-in/check-out process of residents throughout the year
- Provides excellent customer service while working with residents both at the Community Center and in day-to-day interactions
- Communicates student concerns to the Director of Residence Life
- Works collaboratively with other Resident Assistants to create an inclusive and welcoming community
- Assists in maintaining a secure and safe environment for all housing students
- Helps with mail services: receiving and distributing packages and USPS mail
- Schedules appointments for the Residence Life Coordinator
- Assists with the maintenance of administrative student housing records
- Provides accurate information regarding Founders Hall events/programs college-wide activities and campus resources
- May perform other like duties as requested
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Lives in Founders Hall
- Knowledge of college organizational structure policies and procedures
STUDENT SKILL DEVELOPMENT: Communication customer service critical thinking and effective reasoning collaboration professionalism technology PREDICTED OUTCOME: Practical competence customer service critical thinking collaboration communicating effectively technological competence demonstrating professionalism
STUDENT EMPLOYMENT GUIDELINES: - Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule effective communication/interpersonal skills and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
