Beginning the 2025-2026 school year work as a preschool aide to support preschool lead teachers work to foster the growth of the childrens awareness of their identity as a child of God. Serve teachers and students to help develop a classroom experience that promotes faith and a love of what is true good and beautiful in the Catholic tradition. As an integral part of the schools classical Catholic culture cultivate a development of the whole person including the sensory intellectual social and emotional levels. Responsibilities: - Understand and uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church being a role model of Christian love faith and virtue. Relate to students by loving them with the love of Christ.
- Help maintain a clean and inviting classroom environment including inventory and upkeep of materials.
- Work with children with various social and cognitive abilities providing differentiated support and instruction.
- Be responsible when called upon for the safety welfare social emotional and educational growth of students.
- Regularly communicate in a professional manner with the lead teachers to provide updates on student or classroom needs or situations.
- Be flexible in filling needs as they arise across multiple classrooms learning to anticipate needs and respond with appropriate initiative.
- Provide breaks for other teachers.
- Arrive promptly by 7:30 a.m. to prepare for the arrival of children by 8:00 AM. Preschool days end at 3:10 p.m.
- Attend staff meetings.
- Conduct oneself professionally by respecting student and family confidentiality. Contribute toward the maintenance of an atmosphere of collegial support and professional standards.
- Participate in school functions that support the school community and sustainability of the school and especially the preschool as directed. Examples include Open Houses evening events etc.
- Participate in professional training to fully serve each childs needs and to personally keep abreast with current developmentally appropriate practices and ideas for children between the ages of 3 and 6 years. The State of Michigan requires 16 hours of professional training each calendar year.
Qualifications: - Exemplify and articulate a life of faith in Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church.
- Catechesis of the Good Shepherd certification (or obtain within two years of hire)
- Bachelors Degree and current teaching certificate (or obtain certification within three years of hire).
