Job Description
Introduction
* Engineering qualification with at least 4 years relevant work experience. Valid drivers license own
vehicle and willing to travel locally and crossborder. *
Description: A company providing expert laboratory support is seeking a service technician to join their
team. Duties will include but is not limited to: ensure all amin and quotations are complete within 24 hoursof being onsite and all part numbers and hours are clearly noted on the job card for the quotation; work inthe workshop is up to date; on site technical work is up to date; ensure that customers are happy withaftersales service and are being kept updated on any repairs or correspondence on a regular basis;assist with any sales requests; contact customers to make appointments and schedule meetings beforegoing to site; address any urgent matters related to your tasks immediately and follow up to completion;ensure that afterhours calls are attended to urgently for customers on contract; ensure that your besteffort is given to repairing customers equipment to their satisfaction and according to manufacturersrecommendations; use manufacturers manuals to complete services and repairs efficiently andeffectively; visit labs when not busy with repairs and services; compile a list of all equipment used withincustomer sites to enable company to build a customer list of all opportunities available within the region; check for new products or replacement products the customers might need; map the area to indicatewhere all the laboratories is with address contact person and contact details of the laboratory;installation commissioning and preventative maintenance; fault finding; completion of Job card forQuotations; send the quotation to the customer within 24 hours of being on site; repairs and services toequipment; technical backup and support to customers; handle guarantee claims and repairs; identifysales opportunities and communicate to sales team; enduser training; telephonic technical support; saleand maintenance of SLAs (Service Level Agreements); assist with standby for critical customers;maintain all administrative work; Adherence to all Management Control Systems requirements.
Key Requirements: Relevant electrical or mechanical engineering qualification with at least 4 years
relevant work experience. Experience working with Bio Safety Cabinets or air filter maintenance will be
beneficial. ISO 17025 training will be beneficial. Valid drivers license and own vehicle essential. Willing totravel locally and crossborder. Overtime work may be required.
Additional Requirements: The ideal candidate should have great negotiation administration planning
organizing time management problem solving communication interpersonal and listening skills.
Excellent computer skills.
