Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and dynamic Camp Manager for a luxury lodge based in the beautiful Hluhluwe area. This live-in role is perfect for someone passionate about hospitality guest engagement and delivering an exceptional safari experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare welcome and departure notes for guests
Check guests in during the day and manage dietaries children and special requests
Implement and maintain lodge standards and procedures (BOPs)
Host guests during the day and assist with any needs or requests
Ensure all guest-facing products and services meet lodge standards
Oversee set-ups for breakfast lunch and dinner
Conduct room checks for new arrivals
Execute guest delight moments to ensure memorable stays
Maintain a tidy and styled main guest area at all times
Host guests during meals and ensure smooth service from kitchen and wait staff
Work closely with waiters and department heads to uphold service standards
Assist other departments as required
Host and plan children s activities at the lodge
Provide superior service and hospitality to all guests
Demonstrate creativity and enthusiasm when planning activities for children
Skills & Attributes Required:
Excellent communication skills with both guests and staff
High personal work standards to reflect the quality of the lodge
Strong organisational skills and lateral thinking
Initiative and the ability to lead by example
Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve guest concerns professionally
A hospitable proactive and driven personality with career ambition
Professional courteous and service-orientated attitude
High level of integrity and honesty
Knowledge Required:
Hospitality and guest service best practices
Local environment and communities
Regional and national awareness
Company knowledge (including relevant conservation or community impact initiatives)
Valid unendorsed South African driver s licence (essential)
Previous Experience Required:
Proven experience in the hospitality industry particularly in guest-facing roles
Previous camp management or safari hosting experience advantageous
Experience working with children is a strong advantage
