This role is responsible for driving sales strategy building retailer relationships and ensuring strong brand engagement year-round. The Sales Manager will oversee forecasting budgeting and execution of customer engagement activities while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver on key growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead strategic sales plans aligned with business and brand goals
- Identify and secure new business opportunities within retail and independent channels
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate forecasting and data integrity
- Drive category growth through innovation and insights-led initiatives
- Manage and report on budgets working capital and quarterly cash flow
- Oversee customer reporting including retail sales and forecast tracking
- Conduct regular engagement with retailers and distributors
- Contribute to new product development to grow market share
- Lead and mentor staff through biannual performance reviews and career development plans
Requirements
- 10 years experience in sales and/or brand management with executive leadership exposure
- Relevant degree in Commerce or related field
- Strong track record in the South African retail sector; apparel or footwear experience preferred
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of customer engagement
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word
- Skilled in data-driven decision-making and sales forecasting
- Motivated strategic and confident in building and maintaining relationships
- Experience in managing staff and leading teams through change and growth
