They are now scaling up operations and seeking dynamic interns to support research and funding acquisition efforts.
We are looking for a resourceful and analytical Research & RFP Associate Intern to assist with social and impact research proposal development donor research and all research based project pipeline management. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in research-heavy environments understands donor ecosystems and can use digital tools to prepare compelling impact focused research proposals and thought provoking RFP responses.
Actively identify and track research opportunities and RFPs at both local and international stage
Draft and support submission of research proposals concept notes and technical bids
Conduct qualitative and quantitative research synthesize findings into reports or strategy notes
Maintain a database of non for profit organizationscalls deadlines and submission requirements for end of project evaluations calls and mid term project appraisals.
Assist in monitoring & evaluation data collection and light statistical analysis using advanced analytics platforms.
Collaborate with various departments to tailor research findings to operational goals
Tracks local and international RFPs related to impact and social research
Familiarity with funding platforms such as Devex GrantStation UNGM and others
Solid understanding of proposal writing donor compliance and report formatting
Knowledge of M&E frameworks and data collection tools (e.g. KoboToolbox Google Forms)
Proficiency in desk research synthesis and presentation of findings
Strong communication skills particularly in formal writing and documentation
Candidates should demonstrate experience or willingness to learn how to use AI to streamline research and proposal development including:
AI search and summarization tools like Perplexity ChatGPT or Consensus to speed up donor research and literature reviews
AI writing assistants (e.g. Grammarly Jasper or Notion AI) to improve proposal clarity structure and impact
AI-enhanced data analysis using platforms like Excel AI Tableau GPT or Google Sheets AI extensions
Version control and collaboration tools such as Notion Airtable or Trello AI plugins
Degree in Demography Statistics Economics Development Studies or a related research-intensive field
Minimum 1 year of practical experience in research proposal development or grants coordination (academic freelance or professional)
Completion of proposal writing boot-camps online training from UN USAID or other donor agencies is a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and produce high-quality documentation independently
Highly analytical and self-motivated
Exceptional writing and proofreading skills
Able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
