Hire Resolves client a prominent engineering consultancy renowned for delivering innovative and sustainable infrastructure solutions across Africa is currently seeking a Senior Engineer: Wastewater and Water Treatment to join their Water and Integrated Infrastructure (WIIG) & Transportation Department on a permanent basis in Gauteng.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned engineering professional who thrives in a multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about addressing water scarcity challenges through advanced treatment and reclamation technologies.
Lead and manage water and wastewater treatment projects from feasibility to commissioning.
Develop innovative water reuse strategies for municipal industrial and agricultural applications.
Evaluate and design advanced treatment technologies such as membrane filtration UV disinfection ozonation and AOPs.
Support the permitting design and implementation of water reclamation systems.
Conduct process evaluations feasibility assessments and prepare detailed design reports.
Produce and review process flow diagrams P&IDs and specifications.
Oversee preparation of drawings tender documentation and contractor procurement.
Provide onsite support during construction monitor quality and ensure adherence to specifications.
Perform and supervise commissioning and optimisation of treatment plants.
Interface with clients through progress meetings and technical discussions.
Prepare and manage project budgets ensuring scope time and cost control.
Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal knowledge transfer.
Present technical papers at conferences and write articles for publication to enhance the organisations profile.
Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental standards.
Educational Qualifications:
BSc/BEng in Chemical Civil or Process Engineering.
Masters degree in Water Environmental or Process Engineering is an advantage.
Professional Registration:
PrEng registration with ECSA is mandatory.
Experience:
1520 years of experience in water and wastewater treatment projects.
Proven expertise in greenfield and brownfield developments.
Practical experience with conventional and advanced water and wastewater treatment technologies including MBR BNR and activated sludge systems.
Experience in potable and nonpotable water reuse schemes.
Indepth knowledge of national and international standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. SANS SABS).
Proficient in contract administration under GCC and FIDIC.
Skilled in design software such as AutoCAD Civil Designer Civil3D; experience with process simulation tools is advantageous.
Strong project planning and budgeting capabilities.
