Job Description

Job Title: Human Resources Officer
Location: Cape Town

Whats in a Days Work
As Human Resources Officer you will report to the Head of HR and support all aspects of the employee lifecycle from recruitment and onboarding to compliance training and wellness.

HR Operations & Administration
  • Maintain accurate confidential employee records and HR documentation
  • Coordinate recruitment onboarding and orientation processes
  • Process payroll inputs
  • Manage leave absenteeism and statutory compliance documentation
Performance & Culture
  • Assist with staff appraisals and training coordination
  • Support the implementation of wellness and employee engagement initiatives
  • Provide day-to-day HR policy guidance and support to line managers
  • Help manage workplace discipline and conflict resolution
Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure alignment with South African labour laws and HR best practices
  • Assist in monitoring adherence to HR budgets and controlling resource wastage
  • Prepare HR reports and maintain records for audits and reviews
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Formal qualification in Human Resources Management Industrial Psychology or Organisational Psychology (essential)
  • Degree in Human Resources or Organisational Psychology (preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR Information Systems
  • Fluent in English
  • Hotel/Hospitality experience essential
  • Current experience as a Human Resources Officer for a hotel group/hospitality group
Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong administrative and organisational capabilities
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Knowledge of South African Labour Legislation
  • Empathetic with a strong sense of fairness and ethics
  • Skilled in conflict resolution and emotionally intelligent
