Job Description
Head Guide Luxury Safari Lodge (North West)
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Head Guide to join a prestigious luxury safari lodge located in the North West Province. This role is ideal for a highly skilled and confident individual who thrives in a leadership position and has a deep respect for nature and conservation.
Key Responsibilities
Lead mentor and manage the guiding team to ensure the highest standards of guiding and guest experience
Conduct exceptional game drives and guided bush walks
Ensure all guest experiences are safe informative and engaging
Maintain knowledge of the reserve s wildlife flora fauna and ecological systems
Coordinate game drive scheduling and vehicle allocation
Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of guiding equipment and vehicles
Uphold and enforce lodge and field safety protocols at all times
Conduct regular training and assessments for junior guides
Liaise with other departments to ensure a seamless guest experience
Requirements
A strong and confident leadership style
FGASA Level 2 or higher (with current registration)
Valid First Aid Certification
Valid PDP and Driver s Licence
DEAT and THETA Registered
Minimum 3-5 years guiding experience in a Big 5 reserve
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Passion for wildlife conservation and delivering outstanding guest experiences
Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays
