Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Delivery Driver to join our logistics team. As a Delivery Driver you will be the face of our company ensuring timely and accurate delivery of goods to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Timely Deliveries: Ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers while adhering to the scheduled routes.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service addressing any concerns or questions during deliveries.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Documentation: Accurately complete all required delivery paperwork and electronic documentation.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all traffic and safety regulations to ensure safe driving practices.
- Load and Unload: Assist with loading and unloading goods as needed ensuring products are handled with care.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with stock control and other warehouse staff to meet daily operational goals.
Knowledge and Abilities:
- Time Management: Strong time management skills to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to the schedule.
- Communication: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact professionally with customers and address their concerns effectively.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected issues such as delivery obstacles or customer complaints calmly and efficiently
- Route Planning: Proficient in using GPS systems and other navigation tools to determine the most efficient routes.
- Multi-Tasking: Ability to manage multiple deliveries and prioritize tasks effectively to maintain efficiency.
- Strength and Stamina: Capable of lifting heavy packages and frequently driving long hours.
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules routes delivery demands and weather conditions.
- Reliability: Dependable and punctual demonstrating a strong work ethic and commitment to the job.
- Risk Management: Ability to identify potential hazards on the road and take proactive measures to mitigate risks
Qualifications and Experience:
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Valid PDP license.
- Minimum two years of delivery driving experience.
