Job Description
- Activate Newcastles history through site-specific storytelling
- Unique opportunity within Museum Archive Libraries & Learning
- Permanent Part-Time role 21-hour week
City of Newcastle (CN) has a unique opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Local History Researcher to join our Museum Archive Libraries & Learning on a permanent part-time basis working a 21-hour week Tuesday to Thursday.
As our Local History Researcher you will develop and manage a system for assessing significance and delivering heritage plaques and monuments collaborating with designers manufacturers and IT specialists. Working closely with community stakeholders you will write design and promote a heritage plaque database.
Additionally you will provide accurate historical information to internal and external stakeholders supporting City of Newcastle projects and media responses. This role activates and interprets Newcastles histories through site-specific storytelling writing and outreach aiming to inspire and engage. As a member of our team you wont just work for the city; youll co-create it.
