Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager to lead a critical infrastructure deployment project at our Johannesburg Data Centre. This contract role requires full-time on-site presence for the duration of 3 4 months.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the onsite installation of cabling and the build of a new server room.
Coordinate and oversee third-party suppliers and contractors to ensure timely and quality delivery.
Lead end-to-end project management of IT infrastructure initiatives.
Define project scope goals deliverables and success criteria in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Develop and maintain detailed project plans schedules and resource allocations.
Monitor and control project budgets risks and issues; escalate and resolve as necessary.
Ensure all deliverables align with IT security standards and compliance requirements.
Provide regular status updates and reports to stakeholders and executive leadership.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and capture lessons learned.
Requirements:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT project management with a strong focus on infrastructure projects.
Solid understanding of networking server environments data centres and cloud platforms (AWS Azure).
Proven track record of managing on-site builds cabling installations and infrastructure rollouts.
PMP PRINCE2 or similar project management certification (preferred).
Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project Jira or Trello.
Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
Must be hands-on and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment.
