Job Description

Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Luxury Wilderness Reserve Western Cape
Salary: Negotiable Dependent on Experience

Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a guest-focused career-driven Assistant Food & Beverage Manager for a renowned luxury wilderness reserve based in the Western Cape. This is an exciting opportunity for a charismatic hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a flair for delivering exceptional service.

Job Summary:
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on service-orientated leader with a sense of urgency and high attention to detail. The role involves supporting the day-to-day operations of the Food & Beverage department and assisting with guest interaction team leadership cost control and training initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Hotel or Food & Beverage Management

  • Minimum 4 years experience in a 4/5* hotel including at least 2 years managing a F&B outlet

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel)

  • Operational experience with Point of Sale systems (Micros preferred)

  • Operational experience with stock management systems (FnBShop advantageous)

  • Exposure to Opera advantageous

  • Highly presentable with excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Familiarity with hospitality terminology particularly F&B vocabulary

  • Solid understanding of restaurant financials and stock control

  • Experience with service recovery

  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and public holidays

Advantageous Experience:

  • Exposure to Micros Symphony

  • WSET Level 1 or Level 2 (Wine and Food Pairing)

  • Previous training experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist outlet management with daily operations and guest interaction especially during peak periods

  • Manage the operating equipment store including purchasing and distribution

  • Plan and execute F&B special events and promotions to drive revenue and brand visibility

  • Prepare staff rosters balancing business needs with labour cost control

  • Monitor and manage operating costs in line with the budget

  • Coordinate and support departmental training

Package Includes:
