Duties & Responsibilities

What youll do:

As a Direct Sales Account Executive based in Cape Town you will immerse yourself in the world of media sales by managing a portfolio of agency clients while developing new business opportunities. Your day-to-day activities will involve building strong connections with key decision-makers at leading agencies understanding their unique needs and crafting bespoke advertising campaigns that drive measurable results. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution from proposal through to delivery and post-campaign analysis. Success in this role requires an ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or attention to detail. By staying ahead of market trends and maintaining meticulous records within CRM systems you will contribute directly to the companys growth targets while enhancing its reputation for excellence in client service.

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and selling integrated advertising solutions across radio digital events and branded content platforms.
  • Manage and expand relationships with key media agencies and their clients acting as the primary point of contact for all campaign-related matters.
  • Develop tailored proposals and pitches that align with client objectives while showcasing the strengths of the companys diverse media offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as content marketing strategy and customer service to deliver compelling commercial solutions that exceed client expectations.
  • Monitor campaign performance through regular analysis and reporting ensuring all deliverables are met on time and to the highest standard.
  • Maintain accurate sales records using CRM systems ensuring transparency in forecasting pipeline management and post-campaign analysis.
  • Proactively engage clients through strategic account development initiatives aimed at unlocking long-term revenue potential and fostering loyalty.
  • Stay informed about industry trends competitor activity and market developments to provide valuable insights that shape product offerings and positioning.
  • Handle client concerns promptly by providing effective solutions that maintain satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
  • Contribute to team goals by sharing feedback for continuous improvement and collaborating effectively with colleagues across departments.

Above all else your dependability ensures every project runs smoothly from start to finish; clients know they can rely on you for honest advice delivered with warmth and professionalism.

  • Minimum qualification of Matric is required; completion of sales skills negotiation or presentation courses is highly advantageous for this role.
  • A Bachelors degree is considered beneficial as it demonstrates commitment to personal development within the field of media sales.
  • You have 6-8 years proven experience in media sales with a track record of working successfully with large agencies on complex campaigns.
  • Experience selling across digital platforms is highly desirable as it enables you to offer integrated solutions that meet evolving client needs.
  • Possession of a valid drivers licence is essential due to the need for regular face-to-face meetings with clients throughout Cape Town.
  • Exceptional planning and organisational skills allow you to manage multiple timelines briefs bookings and campaign deliverables efficiently.
  • Your attention to detail ensures all proposals schedules and reports are error-free while aligning perfectly with client expectations.
  • A client service orientation means you anticipate needs proactively-responding swiftly to queries or issues so satisfaction remains consistently high.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems supports your ability to track sales activity accurately while maintaining compliance with internal processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills enable you to present persuasive proposals confidently to both junior and senior stakeholders.
