Would you like to be part of a value-driven commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day The Bond Store Administrator is responsible for the secure compliant and efficient operation of the Maersk SOS Bonded Warehouse at the Tekstiel site in accordance with the Customs and Excise Act and SARS licensing conditions. This includes full accountability for managing bonded stock movements recharging processes reconciliations stock counts and maintaining accurate auditable records. The role plays a critical part in ensuring service excellence for key clients (e.g. PMI) strict adherence to bonded warehouse SOPs and maintaining SARS customs compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bond Store Operations & Compliance
Manage daily activities in the bonded area ensuring adherence to the Maersk Bonded Warehouse SOP and SARS Special Storage (SOS) licensing conditions.
Initiate inbound and outbound receiving processes on WMS specific to bonded products based on approved documentation and client instruction.
Maintain an accurate Bond Register reflecting all receipts removals and inventory adjustments with cross-reference to Bills of Entry and relevant customs declarations.
Support internal and external customs audits by ensuring availability of required documents and accurate historical records for all bonded transactions.
Inventory Control & Stock Movement
Oversee daily stock movements including device transfers from bulk/case locations to the recharging area and back to fine-pick zones post-processing.
Capture and monitor data for 90 devices recharged daily ensuring alignment with WMS and reporting to the Inventory Manager for expiry extension actions.
Perform weekly stock counts for all bonded SKUs and ensure accurate scanning capture and submission of count sheets to stakeholders.
Investigate and report inventory variances ensuring root cause identification and preventative action implementation.
Documentation & Reporting
Generate and distribute daily weekly and monthly reports related to:
Device recharging status
Inventory transactions
Bond store activity logs
Submit activity logs monthly to the Warehouse Administrator to support site reporting and audit trails.
Ensure document retention filing and record keeping in line with SARS 5-year compliance requirement.
Safety Security & Access Control
Maintain strict control over access to the bonded warehouse ensuring only authorized personnel perform relevant duties.
Ensure CCTV systems seal control and physical security measures are in place operational and monitored in line with SARS guidelines for tobacco commodities.
Immediately report and escalate any non-conformances seal breaks or document discrepancies to customs brokers and management.
Client Engagement & Continuous Improvement
Attend client meetings and provide detailed feedback on past activities operational updates and planned improvements.
Maintain excellent service standards for key clients (e.g. PMI) including timely data sharing and problem-solving support.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through feedback 5S practices and participation in Kaizen activities focused on inventory integrity and bonded efficiency.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Minimum Requirements:
Education
Matric / Grade 12 (Compulsory)
Experience
3 years in bonded warehouse operations or customs-controlled environments
Relevant qualification in Logistics Inventory Control or SARS Customs Compliance (advantageous)
Systems
Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) MS Excel and electronic customs declaration systems
Skills
Detail-oriented organized compliance-driven capable of interpreting customs documentation strong communication and reporting skills
Other
Prior experience working with tobacco or high-value products is highly advantageous
