Job Description
Introduction
Are you a detail-driven Quantity Surveyor with mining experience Our client a leading name in the mining industry is looking for a highly competent and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their operations at a coal mine in Mpumalanga. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex high-value projects and contribute to cost efficiency and operational success in a fast-paced plant environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for plant-related projects
- Monitor track and control project expenditures against budgets
- Evaluate contractor claims variations and payment certifications
- Assist in the preparation of tenders and support contract negotiations
- Compile and present cost reports and financial forecasts to management
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation company standards and procedures
- Work closely with project managers and engineering teams to achieve project goals
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- 5 years of experience in quantity surveying preferably in the mining sector
- Proficiency in cost estimation tools and MS Office Suite
- Solid knowledge of contracts and procurement practices
- Strong analytical negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage workload independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
