Mechanical Foreman / Maintenance Engineer – Mining – Mpumalanga
Overview:
Our client in the mining industry is seeking a qualified Mechanical Foreman / Maintenance Engineer to manage and oversee mechanical maintenance at their mining operation in Mpumalanga. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong technical skills and proven experience managing maintenance teams in mining or heavy industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise maintenance and repair of mining equipment
- Lead equipment installations and site operations
- Implement preventative maintenance schedules (PPM)
- Conduct equipment inspections and manage asset performance
- Train teams on safe and efficient machinery operation
- Ensure compliance with safety and maintenance standards
- Monitor OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Manage spares inventory and maintenance records
- Drive engineering and maintenance projects on-site
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Recognised mechanical or earthmoving trade qualification (advantageous)
- Minimum 5 years’ supervisory experience in mining or heavy industry maintenance
- Strong technical knowledge of mining equipment and maintenance best practices
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive performance
