Job Description
Introduction
Law firm in Pretoria East is looking for a Junior Attorney to join their team in Pretoria.
Requirements:
- LLB Degree from an accredited institution
- Admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa
- Between 3 to 5 years post-admission experience in general or civil litigation Banking law
- Strong working knowledge of litigation processes court procedures and relevant legislation
- Demonstrated ability to manage a litigation caseload independently and effectively
- Exceptional drafting legal research and advocacy skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients
Key duties:
- Draft review and finalise legal documents including contracts settlement agreements and court pleadings.
- Provide sound legal advice to major financial sector clients with a focus on litigation strategies and debt recovery solutions.
- Manage high-value defended matters from inception to finalisation including the negotiation and settlement of disputes and full representation in court proceedings.
- Support senior attorneys with complex dispute resolution debt collection matters and contractual disputes.
- Develop case strategies for banking-related litigation including pre-litigation negotiation and risk assessment.
- Conduct direct consultations with clients to assess cases provide advice and negotiate settlement terms where applicable.
- Maintain meticulous case records monitor procedural timelines and ensure compliance with all applicable rules and deadlines.
- Prepare and submit detailed monthly matter reports and litigation performance matrices to management.
