Job Description

Role Description:

  • Govern manage and execute the demand pipeline and IT unit capacity.
  • Develop a Demand and Capacity Framework defining the processes and tools to effectively forecast plan schedule and monitor resourcing across projects changes and delivery road maps.
  • Facilitate the annual and quarterly planning cycle including structuring capturing estimating and mapping of demand against agreed plans and resource base.
  • Develop define and implement the overall IT demand management structure capability needs and processes in agreement with IT Leadership.
  • Facilitate regular communication channels and forums to align on planned activities between business units and IT and create transparency about upcoming business initiatives the current demand pipeline the current IT change execution performance and capacity situation.
  • Ensure demand and capacity expectations and potential risks are proactively managed and communicated.
  • Liaise and work with the BEMs to shape implement and ensure consistent execution of the demand management processes.
  • Attend relevant business and decisionmaking forums which deal with future IT demand and new requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a project and enhancement roadmap aligned with business priority IT capacity technical dependencies and ongoing project portfolio.
  • Ensure that the BEMs capture new demand with scope and specification in order to have a consistent basis for estimation and scheduling of implementation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all demand related issues including preparing information packs for senior IT management business units and key stakeholders creating transparency over the demand pipeline status of current inflight projects and daytoday operational demand and capacity performance metrics.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure the demand and capacity framework is operating correctly.
  • Develop KPIs for Demand and Capacity Management as well as dashboards and regular reports to create transparency and tracking of all change and project demand and capacity requirements.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Information Technology Computer Science or related (essential).
  • Certification / qualification in Project Management (essential).
  • 4 years demand and capacity management experience with demonstrable knowledge and understanding of demand scheduling and pipeline management processes applications and tools (incl. Workforce Management Software and Heat Maps) (essential).
  • Highly proficient in performing statistical analysis identifying forecast trends and seasonality recognizing turning points in demand and monitoring changes in key business drivers (essential).
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with key functions to integrate inputs and data into actionable insights and plans (essential).
  • Experience in a retail or FMCG environment (highly beneficial).
  • Strong working knowledge of project management methodology and integration of lifecycles (essential).
  • Sound level of proficiency with MS Office (specifically Project and Excel) (essential).
  • Knowledge of Project Program and Portfolio Management (essential)
