A statutory certification body invites qualified structural engineering professionals to serve as technical experts in the evaluation of construction products and building systems submitted for certification.
Experts will advise the Technical Evaluation Committee (TECO) on whether draft certificates meet the required assessment criteria and comply with relevant South African National Standards (SANS).
Scope of Work Includes:
- Reviewing draft certificates and test documentation
- Submitting written technical opinions prior to TECO meetings
- Participating in meetings and offering oral input
- Recommending approval or non-approval of certificates
Requirements
- Structural engineering qualification
- Industry experience with construction materials/systems
- Familiarity with SANS
- Attendance at a mandatory induction
Benefits
R1800/hour for up to 4 hours of preparation
R3669 per TECO meeting (approximately 3 hours)
