Job Description
Introduction
A prestigious luxury hotel located in the heart of Cape Towns CBD is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented receptionist to join its dynamic FOH team.
Duties & responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests with a warm friendly and professional attitude.
- Manage check-ins and check-outs efficiently and accurately.
- Handle guest queries requests and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Process payments and maintain accurate billing records.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure smooth guest experiences.
- Manage telephone and email communication including reservations and enquiries.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the front desk and lobby area.
- Promote hotel services and facilities to guests and upsell where appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 12 years experience in a hotel receptionist or front desk role (4-star or 5-star environment preferred).
- Proficiency in hotel booking/reservation systems (Opera or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Well-groomed with a professional appearance.
- Flexibility to work shifts weekends and public holidays.
