We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced and innovative Communications Specialist to join our team until June 2026. Through your work youll have a behind the scenes pass to Newcastles evolution as you shape our future as a liveable inclusive city.

As a Communications Specialist youll develop and deliver a wide range of internal and external communication strategies for City of Newcastle. Collaborating with teams across the organisation youll help keep our community informed about the changes improvements challenges and opportunities shaping our city.

Your excellent interpersonal skills will be key to building and maintaining strong relationships both within City of Newcastle and with external stakeholders. Youll provide strategic communication advice and craft engaging informative content across a range of channelsensuring the right messages reach the right audiences.

Youll be working on projects that shape how we live work and play in Newcastle so experience in local government or infrastructure projects along with knowledge of the IAP2 framework for community participation will be valuable.

Remuneration: $111827.80 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
