We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced and motivated Community Engagement Specialist to join our this role you will make a meaningful contribution to Newcastles evolution to a liveable sustainable and inclusive global city.
As a Community Engagement Specialist you will be responsible for building trust with the community and creating genuine meaningful opportunities for the community to have input into the decision-making process. This includes encouraging inclusive participation across all demographics ensuring decisions are informed by a broad range of community voices and lead to positive change for the Newcastle local government area.
Your excellent interpersonal and analytical skills will be key to building trust and fostering clear communication between the community and City of Newcastle. You will provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders enabling genuine well-informed engagement opportunities. You will draw on stakeholder analysis and awareness to tailor engagement approaches and select appropriate methods for different project contexts. Your ability to prepare high quality reports that communicate insights clearly and effectively will support transparency and continuous improvement.
Working across the organisation you will influence and support teams to embed engagement best practice championing a collaborative approach that strengthens community relationships and enhances project outcomes. Youll work alongside CN professionals and the community on projects that shape how we connect listen and respond.
Experience in local government and a strong understanding of diverse social research approaches methods and techniques along with the ability to apply them will be valuable.

Remuneration: $104536.76 17.5% annual leave loading yearly payment 11.5% Superannuation per annum for a 35-hour week
