The Shift Manager has complete responsibility for Inventory functional processes within the DC managing all aspects of stock handling from receipt from suppliers to dispatch to customers. This position requires a candidate with the proven ability to drive process improvements and the ability to keep pace with TAKEALOT explosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges of an extremely deadline-driven and fast-moving environment of E-commerce.
The position reports to the DC Outbound/Inbound Manager
Purpose of this role :
The Inbound/Outbound Shift Manager has complete responsibilityfor Inbound/Outbound functional processes within the fulfillmentcentre managing all aspects of stock handling from receipt fromsuppliers to filing the stock in inventory locations. This positionrequires a candidate with the proven ability to drive processimprovements and the ability to keep pace with TAKEALOTexplosive growth while motivating others to meet the challenges ofan extremely deadline-driven and fast-moving environment of E-commerce.
Output: (What are you expected to deliver within the scope of your role)
- Operate an efficient Distribution Centre by identifyingimplementing and managing optimal processes andprocedures to minimise costs and maximize workingcapital.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Overall management and coordination of allwarehousing functions
- Responsible for efficiently managing all aspects of stock handling from receipt from suppliersto dispatch to customers including the returns department
- Ensure daily weekly and monthly planning is done for all warehousing operations and manage adherence to plan
- Effective management of housekeeping
- Management of resource to be effective and efficient at lowest cost and according to changing needs
- Effective leadership and direction for the operation team through involvement and communication to deliver on the relevant key business drivers
- Manage customer liaison process and ensure that warehouse queries are resolved timeously and exception trends are addressed
- Ensure that warehouse space equipment and warehouse flow is optimised and that future warehouse requirements are planned
- Ensure stock accuracy through disciplined stock control and implement stock accuracy improvement initiatives
- Measure and manage staff performance through formal staff appraisals development coaching and disciplinary procedures
- Ensure that all business processes procedures and job profiles are documented and updated Management reporting in terms of operational performance productivity stock control and budgets
- Manage projects according to stipulated time frames
- Liaising with suppliers
Qualifications :
- Grade 12
- Relevant tertiary education
- 5 years experience in directly and indirectly managingpeople to deliver continuous improvement
- E-commerce experience
- ERP systems knowledge
- Experience in working with budgets and cost analysis
- LEAN or continuous improvement
- Performance management skills knowledge of IndustrialRelations and practices
