Our client is a multidisciplinary engineering organisation with decades of proven success delivering high-quality engineering and construction solutions across the UK and internationally. With a strong presence in water energy nuclear and defence sectors they pride themselves on in-house innovation offsite manufacturing and end-to-end EPC project delivery.
Their Cape Town office is a growing hub supporting major UK water industry frameworks. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative and forward-thinking team delivering sustainable and complex infrastructure.
The Role: Senior Civil Design Engineer (Water/Wastewater)
This role involves leading and coordinating civil design engineering work for water and wastewater treatment projects. As part of a multidisciplinary team youll deliver detailed designs from concept through to construction collaborating with UK-based stakeholders and ensuring compliance with Eurocodes OHSA and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities

Lead civil design tasks on major and moderate scope infrastructure projects.

Interpret client requirements and develop design deliverables such as calculations sketches reports and risk assessments.

Coordinate condition surveys and integrate survey outputs into civil design.

Use AutoCAD AEC software to develop site layouts structures buried assets and temporary works.

Collaborate with project managers subcontractors and other design disciplines.

Perform technical bid evaluations and ensure supplier designs meet compliance standards.

Mentor junior engineers and promote technical innovation within the team.

Support construction teams with design clarification and site-based guidance.
About You
-
7 years experience delivering water/wastewater civil engineering projects.

BTech/BSc in Civil Engineering; ECSA registered (PR Eng / PR Tech / Candidate).

Strong understanding of design codes safety standards and water industry requirements.

Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.

Fluent in English with excellent communication and leadership skills.

Organised adaptable and committed to continuous professional development.

Comfortable working in a dynamic team-driven environment with UK time zone collaboration.
