Description
Hire Resolves client is currently looking for a Senior Resource Geologist to be based in Gauteng. As a Senior Resource Geologist you will be responsible for overseeing mineral resource estimation modelling and reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and validate mineral resource models using geological assay and geostatistical data
- Oversee data integrity and quality assurance/control (QA/QC) protocols for geological data
- Collaborate with mine planning exploration and metallurgical teams to align resource models with operational goals
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to geology and resource estimation teams
- Review and approve resource statements for internal and external reporting
- Conduct geological risk assessments and contribute to strategic mine planning
- Evaluate and implement new software and techniques to improve resource modeling accuracy
- Support exploration targeting by integrating resource data with geological interpretation
- Prepare and present resource updates to senior management stakeholders and regulatory bodies
Requirements:
- Grade 12
- BSc Hons Degree in Geology/Mineral Resource Management or equivalent.
- SACNASP Registered
- 5 years experience in geological modelling and mineral resource estimation within the mining industry.
- Experience in managing databases and applying grade estimation methods with strong proficiency in geological modelling and geostatistical tools like Leapfrog Datamine and Supervisor.
- Valid Drivers License
