Job Title: Senior IT Support Engineer

Location: Tygervalley Cape Town (Working US hours)

Job Summary: An IT Engineer at ICG Medical plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our IT systems providing critical support to end-users and maintaining the integrity of our hardware and software infrastructure. This role serves as the frontline responder to IT-related challenges contributing to the overall efficiency and functionality of our organizations IT environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Excellent Communication
    • Maintain a very good level of English communication both written and verbal and exhibit patience and empathy when providing support to end-users.
  • Infrastructure Administration
    • Manage and maintain Active Directory Office 365 and Azure environments ensuring user accounts and permissions are up to date.
  • Desktop and Laptop Support
    • Provide support for desktops and laptops including remote troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • End-User Support
    • Offer prompt and effective support to end-users addressing their IT-related concerns and requests.
  • Asset Management
    • Maintain an inventory of hardware equipment and software licenses ensuring accurate records.
  • Basic Networking
    • Troubleshoot basic networking issues and coordinate with vendors for network maintenance activities.
  • Desktop Standardisation
    • Install and configure desktops and laptops with standard software loads to ensure uniformity and performance optimization.
  • Security Compliance
    • Enforce IT policies regarding security software usage and restrictions for all desktops and laptops.
  • Vendor Management
    • Collaborate with hardware and software vendors to ensure availability and maintenance services are compliant with ICG Medical directives.
  • Problem Escalation
    • Escalate complex IT issues to the IT manager and work collaboratively on solutions.

Qualifications Experience and Skills:

  • National Diploma/Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent work experience is preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support and administration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft technologies including Active Directory Office 365 and Azure.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Vendor management experience is a plus.
  • Own transport required
