Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Underground Mine Manager to oversee and optimise underground mining operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe efficient and cost-effective production while maintaining compliance with South African mining regulations. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in narrow tabular mining methods.
Duties & Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Mining Engineering Degree
- Mine managers certificate of competence for metalliferous mines
- Underground blasting ticket for metalliferous mines
- Mine Overseers certificate of competence
- Min 10 years experiencein narrow tabular underground mining.
- Willing to relocate to Rustenburg area
- Experience in conventional stope mining methods advantageous
- Experience in Chrome Gold or Platinum mining advantageous
- Exposure to Chrome wash plants advantageous
- Oversee and manage underground mining operations ensuring safety efficiency and production targets are met.
- Ensure compliance with MHSA regulations and DMRE requirements promoting a strong safety culture.
- Lead and mentor teams including Mine Overseers and Shift Supervisors driving workforce performance and development.
- Implement and optimise narrow tabular mining methods and conventional stope mining techniques.
- Manage mine planning production and operational strategies to maximise resource extraction.
- Ensure effective blasting operations ground support and ventilation for safe underground mining.
- Oversee compliance reporting and stakeholder engagement with regulatory bodies and local communities.
- Advantageous: Experience in Chrome Gold or Platinum mining and exposure to Chrome wash plants.
- Willingness to relocate to Rustenburg and be based on-site for operational oversight.
