Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities
ENVIRONMENT:
A leading company in the Intelligent Process Automation (IPA) sector is offering an exciting opportunity for a Solution / Software Developer to join their team. This role is open to candidates based in either Gauteng or the Western Cape. You will be responsible for coding testing and troubleshooting programs using appropriate hardware databases and programming technologies. The position requires 3 years of hands-on experience in either C# or Python along with strong coding standards and technical problem-solving abilities. To be considered you must have a completed degree from a reputable university and a good pass mark in Mathematics on Higher Grade.
DUTIES:
Technical Expertise:
- Code test and troubleshoot programs utilizing appropriate hardware databases and programming technology using prescribed tools specifications and coding standards.
- Maintain and modify software solutions; make approved changes by amending workflows; develop detailed programming logic and coding changes.
- Develop and test software solutions and enhancements (unit testing and SIT) and collaborate with testing teams (UAT) to define test cases and obtain signoffs.
- Analyse performance of solutions and correct deficiencies based on stakeholder consultation and approval.
- Follow development and release management procedures including documentation CAB presentations and collaboration with operations.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand and implement required changes or modifications to existing applications.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation including design deployment release management testing and support artefacts.
- Maintain timesheets tasks and project management inputs work with PMs on feasibility estimation and risk management.
- Complete units of work independently from analysis through to delivery within prescribed constraints and team methodology.
- Collaborate with operations to promote a DevOps culture.
Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with stakeholders involved in engineering and development projects.
- Resolve conflicts and issues collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
Customer Service & TCF:
- Provide high-quality service to internal and external customers in line with company service standards.
- Ensure all customers are treated fairly.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required Qualifications:
- BSc in Software Engineering or a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification from a reputable university.
- Must have achieved a good pass mark in Mathematics on Higher Grade (school-leaving level or equivalent).
Required Experience (relevant or in a similar role):
- Minimum 3 years experience in software development with demonstrable expertise in either C# or Python.
Experience with:
- Integration frameworks & techniques.
- Web frameworks such as Angular (beneficial).
- C# 6/7 SQL OO Principles JavaScript.
- Git XML BPMN Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban).
- Writing clean maintainable code.
Cloud platforms:
- Azure Google Cloud or AWS.
- Working with or willingness to learn cloud-based AI and ML services.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of engineering methodologies including Agile Waterfall Scrum and hybrid models.
- Business management awareness.
- Ability to integrate across multiple business units.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced deadline-oriented environment.
