Job Overview:
We are seeking the services of a Mid-Level Technology Architect to support the development and enhancement of our ICT Continuity Plan framework. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in IT continuity planning complemented by strong technical expertise to conduct technical assessments and ensure alignment with key governance directives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess the department s current ICT Continuity Plan.
- Conduct a technical assessment of the ICT environment to identify continuity risks and gaps.
- Develop or enhance the ICT Continuity Plan framework in line with best practices.
- Ensure alignment with the DPSA Directive on ICT continuity and the Western Cape Government s (WCG) ICT Continuity Plan.
- Provide expert input on the integration of ICT continuity planning into overall business continuity processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including IT risk and compliance teams to gather relevant information.
- Produce high-quality documentation and recommendations for executive review.
Requirements
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in IT continuity planning or ICT disaster recovery.
- Strong technical background in infrastructure systems architecture or enterprise IT environments.
- Experience in conducting technical risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
- Solid understanding of ICT governance frameworks and directives particularly those of DPSA and WCG.
- Strong analytical communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and deliver within tight timelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree or diploma in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field.
- Certifications in Business Continuity Planning (e.g. CBCP ISO 22301) or IT architecture (e.g. TOGAF) would be advantageous.
Proven experience in IT continuity planning or ICT disaster recovery. Strong technical background in infrastructure, systems architecture, or enterprise IT environments. Experience in conducting technical risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies. Solid understanding of ICT governance frameworks and directives, particularly those of DPSA and WCG.
Education
Degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Certifications in Business Continuity Planning (e.g., CBCP, ISO 22301) or IT architecture (e.g., TOGAF) would be advantageous
