Are you a tax professional with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for compliance Join a dynamic finance team where your expertise in direct and indirect tax can drive real business value. My client based in Cape Town CBD is hiring a Tax Accountant to manage and optimise their Groups tax compliance reporting and planning functions. This is a hands-on role with exposure to both local and international tax matters ideal for someone who thrives on technical challenges and continuous learning.
What youll be doing:
Ensure accurate compliance with direct and indirect tax legislation including VAT import VAT and withholding taxes
Prepare company income tax returns provisional tax calculations and year-end tax computations
Maintain monthly tax account reconciliations and manage the tax asset register
Conduct tax research and collaborate on tax-related projects with internal and external stakeholders
Contribute to Accounting and Tax Forums including IFRS impact reviews and AFS preparation
Train internal teams on tax matters relevant to their functions
What were looking for:
Bachelors degree in Commerce with a strong tax focus
25 years of tax-specific experience
Solid understanding of financial accounting and IFRS
Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office
Experience with regulatory bodies; retail sector experience is a bonus
Detail-driven proactive and comfortable working under pressure
