Job Description
United Exports is looking for a Sea Freight Coordinator (Temp) to join our team in this role you will need to ensure that the product is moved from the grower to the client according to standard procedures and protocols whilst maintaining ongoing communication with role players.
Key Performance Outputs
- Formalize allocations into loading instructions.
- Communicate loading instructions with load points.
- Book containers with Freight Forwarder.
- Check and forwarded Q67 to relevant parties.
- Deal with all operational issues that may arise during loading of containers.
- Source transport quotes.
- Arrange transport from depots and load outs.
- Communicate loading instructions with load points.
- Book containers.
- Compile Seafreight Schedule with vessel option.
- Forward details for Shipping Instruction (SI) submission to Freight Forwarder.
- Capture loading notifications from dispatch documents.
- Capture all details on Seafreight Log.
- Forward Loading Notifications to Freight Forwarders.
- Generate addendums on system and sent out to load points for PPECB stamp to be forwarded to Freight Forwarders.
- Generate and forward Custom Invoices to Freight Forwarders.
- Execute final loading notifications and forward to clients and clearing agents.
- Complete forecast of container bookings.
- Set up logistic SOPs.
- Communicate FOB and transport rates to rest of team.
- Monitor vessel ETD ATD ETA and ATA s and followed-up previous week s shipments ATD and ATA.
- Distribute load-out summary for previous week s loadings.
- Compare and find best rates from service providers.
- Build interpersonal relationships (by arranging visits).
- Assist with other logistics tasks and functions as required
Requirements
Minimum Education/Qualification/Experience:
- Senior certificate / grade 12 / matric.
- Suitable tertiary qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of work experience in the fruit industry with a specific focus on sea exports and related documentation.
Functional/Technical
- Computer literacy: MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint)
- Excellent Email etiquette
- Export systems knowledge
- Understanding Incoterms
- Excellent Customer Service skills
Leadership/Behavioural
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
- Effective negotiation skills.
- Excellent planning organisational skills.
- Building and maintaining good interpersonal relationships.
