Job Description
Introduction
**PLEASE NOTE: This is a 12 months contract position
Our clients in the banking sector based in Johannesburg is urgently looking for a Technical Test Analyst (Automation & Technical Testing) to be responsible for building and maintaining automated test frameworks conducting technical test analysis and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.
This role involves test analysis design and execution across integration regression and non-functional domains (e.g. performance security reliability). They looking for someone with strong automation testing capabilities and deep technical testing expertise.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to test plans and strategies
- Design develop and maintain automated test scripts using modern frameworks for:
- FIX Engine integration
- Market data hub and adapters
- Pre-trade risk controls
- JSE Gateway
- Market Makers
- Execute automated integration regression and non-functional tests
- Perform technical test analysis including performance load and security testing
- Technical Testing will be across asset classes (Commodities FX Equities Fixed Income)
- Apply test execution guidelines and standards
- Investigate software issues through structured testing and automation
- Collaborate with Developers Architects Business Analysts and Vendors to build quality solutions
- Stay current with industry trends in test automation and technical testing
- Validate network routing changes and data persistence mechanisms
- Support testing of new front-end GUI and monitoring tools

Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum qualification required: Tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma) in IT or related field
- Preferred qualification required: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related discipline
- 5 years in technical and automation testing roles
- Experience with low-latency trading systems and FIX protocol
- Familiarity with market-making platforms and financial instruments
- Exposure to tools like Selenium JMeter Postman or similar
- Understanding of network architecture and data flow in trading environments
- Test analysis execution and automation
- Technical testing (performance security load testing API)
- High aptitude for learning in complex environments
- Automation scripting (Python JavaScript or similar)
- Performance and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Strong analytical and debugging skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
Package & Remuneration
R800 - R1 000 (hourly)
