Introduction
A leading company in the transport and logistics sector is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Manager / Labour Practitioner to oversee all aspects of human resources and industrial relations. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with labour legislation managing employee relations and contributing to a productive legally compliant work environment. This is a strategic role requiring strong leadership a deep understanding of South African labour law and a proactive approach to workplace harmony and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end HR functions including recruitment onboarding and performance management
- Ensure compliance with South African labour legislation (BCEA LRA EEA SDA and related acts)
- Develop review and implement HR policies and procedures
- Lead disciplinary processes grievance handling and workplace investigations
- Represent the company at the CCMA and other dispute resolution forums
- Oversee Employment Equity and Skills Development planning and reporting
- Maintain effective communication and negotiation with unions and employee representatives
- Ensure alignment of HR practices with operational objectives in a fast-paced logistics environment
- Provide legal guidance to management on labour-related issues
- Coordinate staff training upskilling and compliance initiatives
- Maintain secure and compliant employee records in line with POPIA
Minimum Requirements
- LLB Degree with a focus on Labour Law (Admission as an attorney is advantageous)
- 5 years’ experience in a senior HR or Labour Relations role within the transport/logistics or related sectors
- Deep knowledge of SA labour legislation and CCMA procedures
- Excellent conflict resolution communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic operations-driven environment
- Strong leadership decision-making and HR strategy experience
