Position: Shop Assistant / Cashier
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Shop Assistant / this role you will be responsible for assisting customers with their purchases and ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome customers as they enter the shop
- Assist customers in finding products and provide recommendations based on their needs
- Handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and efficiently
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Answer customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints in a professional manner
- Restock shelves and maintain product displays
- Keep track of inventory and notify management of any low stock levels
- Assist with receiving and unpacking new merchandise
- Follow all company policies and procedures including safety and security protocols
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a retail or customer service role is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Basic math skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
