100% FTE Monday- Friday typically between the hours of 8:00 am 5:00 pm. No weekends holidays or call.
As an Advanced Practice Provider youll play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by providing high-quality cost-effective care to patients.
We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to:
- Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients with acute and/or chronic mental illness in inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) settings. This includes the assessment of the patients psychosocial cognitive developmental and medical status.
- Develop recommendations for treatment and communicate with the primary treatment team.
- Work collaboratively with the ED and inpatient medical/surgical teams ED Mental Health Clinicians and sub-specialties including health psychology AODA and geriatrics.
- Provide Telepsychiatry consultation to East Madison Hospital Emergency and Medical-Surgical Units.
- See patients and family members as needed for follow-up psychiatric care that can include medication management non-pharmacological treatment planning for management of behaviors bedside supportive therapy collateral information gathering team treatment planning meetings management of acute agitation and cognitive assessments
Education:
Minimum
If Nurse Practitioner: Masters or Doctorates degree from accredited Nursing Program.
If Physician Assistant: Bachelors or Masters degree from accredited PA Program.
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
If Nurse Practitioner*:
- Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses including prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice AND
- Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Psychiatric-Mental Health.
If Physician Assistant*:
- Active PA license including prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice AND
- Active PA board certification
- Specialization degree in psychiatry (CAQ-PSY)
All Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant applicants must have*: Active DEA license or ability to apply for such license prior to or upon hire.
*Active license or eligibility to obtain active licensure in state of practice. This may include licensing in Wisconsin and other state(s) of practice.
