Career and Technical Education TeacherConstruction/Electrical Technologies Job Title: Construction/Electrical Technologies Instructor Department: AdministrationFLSA Status: Exempt Location: High SchoolType of Position: Full Time Reports To: Principal/AdministratorSalary Grade: Established by the School Committee Union/Non Union: UnionDate: March 2025 Occupation Code: 25-2032.00Job SummaryThe Career and Technical Education Teacher Construction & Electrical Technologies plans implements and provides academic and skills training focusing on preparing students for a career in the Construction/Electrical industry through hands-on activities and practical ResponsibilitiesThe Career and Technical Education Teacher may supervise Paraprofessionals and student FunctionsDevelop and implement curriculum that aligns with the Construction and or Electrical Technologies Pathway and industry lesson plans and assignments that promote student learning and skill leadership for the career technical student organization with the Construction and or Electrical Technologies and facilitate communication with the advisory board employers in the construction industry and the College and Career Readiness Supervisor for students in job-seeking and retention and supervise the safe and proper use of tools and students how to apply classroom knowledge through hands-on student progress assign tasks and grade student progress with parents students and and enforce classroom rules and safety and maintain a safe learning environment that promotes student growth utilizing and adhering to OSHA Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge of and compliance with applicable federal state local and district rules and and adherence to all standards established by the RI Department of Education for licensed to maintain appropriate licenses and endorsements and training hours as knowledge of CTE Construction and Electrical teaching and communication to work collaboratively with students parents and other in using technology and equipment relevant to the CTE to communicate ideas and directives clearly and effectively both orally and in and ExperienceMust currently hold a valid Rhode Island Career Technical Certificate/ not already certified through the RI Department of Education you must participate in an approved state teacher education training program to obtain RI Department of Education School diploma and a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the construction Degree in the content area and a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the construction Degree in the content area and 3 years of work experience in the construction or supervisory experience RequirementsStand sit and/or move about for sustained be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a be able to access and navigate all areas of the schools and other facilities as about in non-traditional instructional Duties The activities duties or responsibilities contained in this job description is not a comprehensive listing that are required of the employee.
