Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general supervision of the Associate Director theAssistant Director (Senior Student Services Program Administrator) for Accommodations manages the day-to-day administrative activities related to the provision of accommodations for students with disabilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides oversight to the Accommodations Team and develops implements and coordinates all related functions for accommodation provision which may include but are not limited to exam administration notetaking coordination housing accommodations dining accommodations and campus access.
  2. Serves as a resource for students faculty and staff regarding accommodation policies and procedures in person on the phone or via email to provide a high level of customer service.
  3. Maintains electronic records in the CSD database of all student and faculty interaction and maintains the highest level of confidentiality with sensitive student information.
  4. Creates updates and maintains procedural information regarding how to access accommodations; disseminates procedures to students faculty and staff by participating in campus outreach and training presentations and workshops (e.g. department meetings one-on-one meetings etc.).
  5. Assists with evaluating and assessing the usage of accommodations and makes recommendations for procedural modifications and improvements as indicated to ensure quality assurance.
  6. Initiates resolutions for complex and routine issues associated with accommodation provision.
  7. Provides training and oversees work assignments for Assistant Accommodations Coordinator(s) undergraduate and graduate student employees involved in the provision of accommodations.
  8. Compiles and generates accommodations data for colleagues as needed for inclusion in Center reports.
  9. Attends weekly case review meetings and staff meetings.
  10. Performs related duties and special assignments as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelors Degree and 6-7 years experience two of which must be serving as an advanced/senior team member or working as a project lead OR Masters degree and four years experience.
  2. Demonstrated experience coordinating testing accommodations for students with disabilities including working knowledge of testing accommodations procedures and best practices.
  3. Demonstrated ability to clearly and succinctly document engagement with students parents/guardians faculty and staff as indicated in the case management system.
  4. Demonstrated ability to communicate information effectively to groups with different backgrounds and experience (i.e. students parents/guardians colleagues).
  5. Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary for effective work relationships.
  6. Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Demonstrated experience in post-secondary disability service provision.
  2. Demonstrated experience supervising professional staff in a union environment.
  3. Demonstrated experience supervising undergraduate and graduate student staff.
