Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control Clerk Infrastructure Civil Department
Location: Rayville LA
Reports To: Quality Control Manager

We are seeking a Quality Control Clerk to join our Infrastructure Civil Department and provide critical administrative and field support to ensure our projects meet all contract specifications industry regulations and client expectations.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Clerk is responsible for assisting the Quality Control Manager in implementing and maintaining the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for large-scale infrastructure projects. This role focuses on documentation compliance tracking and inspection support to ensure all work meets specifications drawings and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Control & Inspection Support

  • Assist in implementing and maintaining the Quality Control Plan (QCP) for the project.

  • Ensure all documentation reflects compliance with contract requirements drawings specifications and industry standards.

  • Support daily site inspections to verify work meets project plans and specifications.

  • Coordinate with third-party testing agencies to schedule required testing (soil concrete asphalt compaction etc.) and ensure results are accurately documented.

  • Verify that all materials meet approved submittals and specifications before installation.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain and organize all quality-related documentation including reports test results and compliance records.

  • Prepare and submit daily weekly and monthly quality reports to project leadership.

  • Track deficiencies and corrective actions ensuring updates are recorded and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Update and maintain as-built drawings and project documentation throughout construction.

  • Assist in reviewing RFIs submittals and change orders for compliance with contract specifications.

Coordination & Communication

  • Work closely with Project Managers Superintendents Engineers and field personnel to ensure quality objectives are met.

  • Communicate with client representatives inspectors and regulatory agencies regarding documentation and compliance matters.

  • Support quality control meetings by preparing reports and distributing relevant documentation.

  • Collaborate with the Safety Team to ensure work meets both safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree in construction engineering or related field preferred.

  • 13 years of experience in construction administration quality control or related field preferred.

  • Experience in civil construction (earthwork utilities concrete asphalt) is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Basic knowledge of construction materials specifications and processes.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook) and capable of learning project management software.

  • Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet deadlines.

  • Dependable proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Work is performed in both office and field settings.

  • Exposure to outdoor conditions dust noise and heavy equipment operations.

  • Regular walking standing bending and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs.

  • Ability to work extended hours or weekends as required by project schedule.
