Senior Client Manager

The Opportunity
A SCM maintains strong business relationships with Maersks strategic clients. SCMs offer transportation and logistics solutions that add value to the clients business while managing client expectations and delivering positive results to Maersk.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of clients strategic initiatives
- Entry point to customer for all levels of the client organization
- Special Projects
- Migration of new integrated clients
- Sales Supply Chain Management (SCM) Specialist consultant
- Establish / maintain Critical Success Factors
- Establish / maintain Key Performance Indicators in collaboration with the Program Manager (PM)
- Drive improvement within the clients organization
- Selling additional integrated logistics services including but not limited to: Supply Chain Management & Value Added (VAS) services Oceanfreight FCL and LCL Domestic Ground Freight Airfreight Transload / Warehousing and Customs House Brokerage.
- Monitor profitability
- Contract renewal negotiations
- Liaison between Customer and Origin as needed / as escalation point (primarily handled by the PM)
- Problem solving
- Sales Systems familiarity
- Special account handling when needed
- Handling general enquiries
- Liaise with Program Management on strategic issues
- Travel with client when mutually beneficial
- Resolve large and/or complex issues/problems
- Manage by influence resources that do not report to this position (e.g. Program Manager; Logistics Specialist; Customer Service teams)
- It is the aim of management to utilize the GCM to gain synergy between all operating systems finance and business development groups within addition to gathering resources and coordinating developments within our own company the GCM must communicate on many levels within the clients organization often from front line customer service people up to CEO level.
- A GCM must be flexible in their work hours and must be able to work from both the Maersk office and remotely (including at times our clients location). GCMs may handle more than one account or be available to act as a sales specialist for the Maersk sales organization.
- Comply with all Federal Provincial and Local legal requirements
- Maintain technical and professional proficiency
- Attend classes or educational workshops
- Review professional publications
We are looking for
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
Industry diplomas or certificates (i.e. CIFFA or CITT) would be preferred but is not required
Minimum 5 years of experience in international freight forwarding or supply chain/ logistics or shipping industries
Strong analytical and problem solving skills; results and details oriented personality; organizational skills
Advanced computer literacy and ability to efficiently operate standard office equipment
Good communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required; ability to work under pressure; team player
Ability to work under pressure and provide guidance to staff
Strong problem solving skills
PC skills (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)
Technical Skills and Competencies Required
Ability to make decisions in the absence of management
Excellent communication skills
Excellent conflict resolution and problem solving skills
A well organized and self-directed individual who is a team player.
Ability to train coach evaluate and mentor
Strong and current knowledge of technology platforms MS Office products and ability to quickly adapt to new software

Benefits:
Full time employees are eligible for Health Insurance Paid Time Off and 401k Match.
The above stated pay range is the anticipated starting salary range for this position. The Company may adjust this range in light of prevailing market conditions and other factors such as Company will work directly with the selected candidate(s) on the final starting salary in accordance with all applicable laws.
