Job Description
The Equipment Assistant for Football is a term time-limited position that assists in the day-to-day operation of the football equipment department.
NOTE: A Term position is a staff position that exists for a period longer than six months but is not expected to last beyond one year. Although a position may exist for a specified or indefinite period staff who accept term positions are not guaranteed employment for the entire period; they are employed for indefinite periods within the limit of the appointment. There are no guarantees of continued employment either within the term or when the term ends.
About the Work Unit:
Vanderbilt Universitys Athletics Department prepares student-athletes to become leaders and champions in life by placing the highest values on integrity character sportsmanship and victory. Vanderbilt is a charter member of the Southeastern Conference and is the conferences only private school. The university fields 16 varsity teams (6 mens teams and 11 womens teams) 15 of which compete in the Southeastern Conference.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists football equipment staff in the set up and support of football practice
- Provide on-field support to players and coaches during practices times
- Help with home football game day set up and operation
- Assist with sorting and stocking equipment and apparel
- Assist with storing and repairing equipment
- Help football equipment managers with issuing players/coaches equipment when needed
- Assist with laundry duties as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A High School diploma is necessary; A Bachelors degree is preferred
- High level of organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities is necessary.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as events require is necessary.
- Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations are preferred.
