The Department
The Sterilising Services Department (SSD) at Alfred Health plays a critical role in supporting safe and efficient surgical and procedural care. Operating across The Alfred Alfred Centre and Sandringham hospitals the department ensures the highest standards in the reprocessing of surgical instruments and equipment. SSD works in close collaboration with operating theatres procedural areas and infection prevention teams to maintain compliance with national standards accreditation requirements and organisational safety objectives.
The SSD is a dynamic and continually evolving team committed to meeting growing complexity and demand while strengthening integration with clinical services to deliver excellence in patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Sterilising Services Department Manager to lead our SSD team and drive operational quality and safety outcomes. The successful candidate will bring proven leadership in a clinical or technical environment with the ability to manage a diverse workforce and foster a culture of accountability innovation and continuous improvement.

We welcome applications from candidates with either a nursing background (Registered Nurse with relevant leadership experience) or sterilising services expertise (Certificate IV in Sterilising Services or equivalent) who are committed to driving excellence in reprocessing services.
