SUMMARY:

The clinician provides direct therapeutic support and services to students collaborates with school-based teams to develop and implement therapeutic strategies and plays a key role in fostering behavioral/social/emotional development. This position requires case management and works closely with educators administrators and families to support student success within the school setting. This clinician is an integral member of the districts Therapeutic Stabilization this role the clinician collaborates closely with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to conduct student observations provide clinical recommendations and assist in therapeutic support planning. This role requires travel to other schools within the district to respond to student needs and consult with school-based staff.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System-wide consultation program and clinical supports to promote students success in their school placement as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to assist in the de-escalation of at risk behaviors.
  • Work with school-based teams when needed to assist students in learning social coping and organizational skills.
  • Collaborate with BCBAs and support staff to support data-based decision making with clinical skill building (new)
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development in the areas of trauma socialization coping and organizational skills.
  • Conduct and provide district professional development as requested.
  • Collaborate with staff in the development of current performance assessments and the development of students behavioral support plans.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination of behavioral interventions supports throughout the district.
  • Collaborate with team members in the development of Individual Education Plans and participate in all aspects of the team process to include; initial annual review and reevaluation meetings.
  • Provide technical assistance to collaborative programs and assist with the facilitation of transition for students to alternative assessment settings.
  • Performs any other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Superintendent or designee may from time to time assign and delegate.
  • Willingness tomaintain on-going certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) which includes physical capabilities to assist with protective holds and student escorts.
  • Ability to travel between buildings as needed and assigned

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in counseling
  • Licensed as a Mental Health Counselor
  • MA DESE license School Adjustment Counselor
  • CPI certification
  • SEI Endorsement
  • Five years of providing therapeutic clinical services and/or special education teaching experience working with students with significant social emotional needs autism spectrum disorders and developmental disabilities in a school setting.
  • Successful completion of Criminal Records Check (CORI) and fingerprints

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Hudson School Committees policy on evaluation or in accordance with union contract.
