Job Description

MBK Real Estate is hiring a Payroll Administrator to join our team at our Home Office in Irvine CA!

This role will be hybrid with 3 days in office and 2 days remote.

Job Summary:

The Payroll Administrator coordinates and assists in the development and administration of the companys payroll programs. Coordinates key payroll processes and programs including but not limited to payroll benefits and compensation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • N/A.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for reviewing payroll records/transactions for accuracy and adequate support documentation.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll related records with internal policies in accordance with GAAP to ensure agency rules/regulations and compliance across all states while following established audit protocols within the department.
  • Respond timely to resolve payroll inquiries or concerns related to payment of wages overtime salaries incentive payments commissions vacation balances wage deductions and pay cards while maintaining customer-focused and support.
  • Develop and establish training documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all partners across company divisions and communities.
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and other compensation accurately including manual checks when needed in accordance with all states federal and local requirements.
  • Audit and analyze reports to determine and correct out-of-balance conditions.
  • Audit ESS retro-adjustments for salary adjustments tax/withholding wage garnishments other deductions address changes direct deposit changes and assists and audits all communities pay card programs.
  • Train community Business Office Managers/Executive Directors and other applicable employees on the proper use of all payroll policies procedures and systems.
  • Assist Payroll Director with year-end processing of all communities W-2s.
  • Complete/coordinate all tasks related to state dated checks with the accounting department.
  • Other related activities that may be required and deemed necessary by the Supervisor.

Education Requirements:

  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent in experience and training.

Experience Requirements (in years):

  • 3 - 5 years payroll processing experience in a multi-state service or healthcare organization with a large non-exempt employee population.
  • 1 years of processing payroll through the Workday payroll system

Required Competencies/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Microsoft Suite competency; strong Excel skills are highly desired.
  • Knowledge of FLSA preferred.
  • Knowledge and relevant experience applying and interpreting federal state and local regulations relating to meals and wage payments.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be mobile and able to perform the physical requirements of the job bending kneeling stooping pushing pulling and repetitive motion.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Able to move intermittently throughout the workday.

Compensation: $36-42/hour
