Job Description
The Energy Market Analytics team is looking for a Modeling Analyst Energy Markets Analytics to support the power price forecasting (PPF) services in Italy and work with our own-developed models and tools using fundamental statistical and artificial intelligence methods. DNVs power price forecasting activity is structured around a set of internal processes and tools that combine a fundamental approach (dispatch models) with statistical and artificial intelligence methods that aim to understand and replicate the market agents interaction with both energy and ancillary services markets.
The candidate will be integrated in a young and dynamic team that has a clear mandate to grow in terms of markets coverage and scope of work.
The responsibilities of the Modeling Analyst will be among others and not limited to:
- Develop and continuously refine advanced energy modelsto forecast electricity market trends and pricing and to optimize the utilization of assets such as battery energy storage systems.
- Create and maintain sophisticated data mining toolsdesigned to extract process and analyze large datasets.
- Assist the quantitative analysis teamwith tasks including energy market analysis power market newsletter reporting and quarterly updates for the power analytics platform.

Qualifications
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering strongly preferred. Other similar engineering degrees will also be considered
Experience in energy markets modelling and in Italian energy sector.
Knowledge of electricity market modelling tools (preferably PLEXOS) programming languages (preferably Python) and Database (SQL).
Very good language skills in English and Italian Spanish is a plus.
