Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

This position contributes to Sanctuarys success by providing superior guest service that will exceed guest and employees expectations during their experience ordering In-Room Dining this position it will be highly important to both efficiently and accurately take orders. A focus on living the Sanctuary Mission Vision and Values is critical to the success of this position as a Sanctuary community member.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Note: the following duties and responsibilities are not all-inclusive

  • Take all guest Room Service orders hand-write order with specifications listed and repeat order back to guest. Ring the order into the point-of-sale system immediately following the close of guest interaction.
  • Place the handwritten order and the check in the check presenter for the server. Place check presenter on the service table so servers are aware there is an the event the servers are out on property please radio them to return to prepare for delivery.
  • Communicate with Private Bar attendant throughout the day with any rooms that have checked out. After the AM Private Bar Attendant has departed remaining check outs are to be communicated to the servers and rang in by the coordinator while servers remain on property servicing guests.
  • Monitor HOTSOS Traces in Opera Guest Arrivals and email communication.
  • If timing allows assist in preparing the order and anything that will increase the efficiency of the expedition of the servers deliveries of the orders amenities and any other needs for the In Room Dining Team.
  • Follow the order procedures for all amenities coordinate all deliveries and ensure tracking slips are filled out for any amenity over $50. If a guest has requested a copy of their amenity receipt ensure F&B Manager is given appropriate paperwork to complete task.
  • Communicate any discrepancies to management who will then follow up with the department/person.
  • If a guest calls down to have a tray picked up quote the guest time for pick-up accurately within a 10 min window /- 5 minutes of quoted pick-up time.
  • Complete tray break down as servers return with trays from property. Return all dirty dishes to the kitchen and sanitize all items that need to be returned to the In Room Dining department.
  • Side work is done according to posted assignments; assist servers with side work during down time.
  • Assist in the running of food from the kitchen to the In Room Dining department.
  • Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner that enables getting along with guests co-workers and management.
  • Desk is to be organized neat and clean at all times. Keep computer and phones clean.
  • Ensure professional environment. Noise level should be kept to a minimum. Follow proper telephone etiquette and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Whenever a break is needed ensure that another trained staff member is answering phone calls.
  • If a guest calls for information or services other than In Room Dining (bathrobe shaving cream etc.) quickly and politely assists guest by calling the appropriate department. A guest should only need to call one number for any request. Follow up with guest to ensure satisfaction.
  • If a guest calls to order amenities cakes or flowers fill out the appropriate form and follow appropriate procedures by informing all departments involved.
  • Staple the signed guest check to the closed check receipt and drop at Front Desk at the close of shift. Complete the tip-out sheet for your portion of the shift to include tip totals and name of coordinator servers amenity shift and private bar attendant(s).
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the F&B Manager and/or Director of Outlets.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he/she can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.

  • Ability to maintain a pleasant disposition and function efficiently in high stress/pressure work environment. Solid interpersonal skills and positive attitude is a must.
  • Computer skills and typing abilities a must.
  • Ability to listen effectively to speak and write English clearly.
  • Professional flexible and positive attitude.
  • Good telephone voice and excellent/professional communication skills required.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand continuously to perform essential job functions.
  • Requires extending arms bending and stooping to reach materials.
  • Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs of guests needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or G.E.D. Equivalent

Current Food Handlers Card.

Related Work Experience

Previous food and beverage experience required.

Experience with hospitality and customer service required.
